Employee background verification.

Employee background checks — also known as Know Your Employee (KYE) services — verify the qualifications, suitability and experience of a potential candidate for employment.

The techniques we use include, but are not limited to:

  • Verification of employment history, including checking the authenticity of the organisation
  • Verification of educational or professional qualifications, along with the accreditation of the university or institute
  • Checking the credit history of the applicant
  • Global database checks

Screening applicants reduces the likelihood of people with a history of dishonest or fraudulent behaviour being given a role within your company — an important fraud-prevention procedure.

Do you know your customer well enough?

In the fast-paced business world, due diligence is crucial. Our experts delve deep into the details, using the latest tools and methodologies to deliver accurate, actionable insight — from partner evaluations to mergers and acquisitions.

Your customers are the lifeblood of your organisation. But not knowing them well enough can expose your business to reputational, operational and legal risk.

Know Your Customer goes well beyond knowing a customer's type of business. It means understanding their relationships with other entities and networks, so you don't get caught in a web of potential criminal activity — both when new customers are acquired and through continuous monitoring of existing ones.

The cost and time of expert due diligence is not even a fraction of the financial or reputational loss a business may face without it.

Employment verification.

A check on the details and documents relating to a candidate's employment history, to confirm its veracity.

This includes verification with the Human Resources department or the concerned official of the previous organisation. Before we proceed, the authenticity of the firm itself is also checked — so a fictitious employer never slips through.

Credit check.

A credit check gives the details of a candidate's credit records, including bankruptcy or bad payment history, if any.

The content of the report varies in each jurisdiction, and the check is conducted only where it is legally permissible and feasible.

Only in jurisdictions where legally permissible.

Qualification verification.

The candidate's highest academic or professional qualification is verified with the issuing authority, confirming its authenticity.

Before verification proceeds, the authenticity and accreditation of the university or institute is also checked — catching degree mills as well as forged certificates.

What is Know Your Employee (KYE)?
KYE is the process of verifying the qualifications, suitability and experience of a potential candidate for employment — including employment history, education, credit history and global database checks.
Can a credit check be done for every candidate?
No. Credit checks are conducted only in jurisdictions where they are legally permissible and feasible, and the content of the report varies by jurisdiction.
How do you verify a degree or certificate?
We verify the qualification directly with the issuing authority, and first confirm the authenticity and accreditation of the university or institute.
Why is due diligence needed beyond basic KYC?
Knowing a customer's type of business isn't enough. Due diligence uncovers their relationships, financial health and red flags, helping you avoid reputational, operational and legal risk.
Can I track a verification while it's in progress?
Yes. Clients use ARMS Protect, our secure cloud platform, for real-time updates on candidate verifications, document submissions and status changes. Learn about ARMS Protect.
